The Texas Statehouse

The Texas Statehouse

On a recent trip to Austin, Texas I had the opportunity to take these images.  For those who have not seen the Texas state capital it is arguably one of the most beautiful, sitting upon one of the highest locations in Austin—and only a few minutes walk from the music scene.  The image should follow below, if you do not see it click here and scroll down.

  • Did you notice that the statue on top of the capital faces south? A snub to the north from the Civil War. I love our Capital. When I visit Austin I stay at a hotel a couple of blocks away that has rooms facing the Capital.

  • I had never thought about it. Texas is the only state joined by treaty. Historically they had the right to be proud.
